France invests 55 billion euros per year in R&D (2.2% of GDP). The CEA, CNRS, Inria, INSERM, INRAE and major industrials (L'Oréal, Sanofi, Stellantis, Airbus) recruit in work-study.
The CIFRE agreement (funded by ANRT) allows preparing a PhD in work-study between a company and a lab — 1,500 new agreements per year.
